Chacha Chaudhary: The Toll Road

Chacha Chaudhary’s table is buried in letters, and every one tells the same story. Somewhere on the forest road, travellers are being stopped at gunpoint and robbed. Binni can’t believe how many there are. Chacha just smiles. He already has a plan.

Deep in the jungle, a long-haired bandit in a battered hat and his turbaned sidekick have set up a “toll booth” of their own. They drag a fallen tree across the road and wait. A school bus full of frightened children pulls up, and the driver has no choice but to hand over cash. A red car comes next, and the elderly couple inside pays too. The bandit laughs. Business is good.

Then an old truck rattles up to the log. Behind the wheel sits a little old man in a red turban. The bandit sees an easy target and points his gun.

He doesn’t know who’s riding in the back.

The truck doors swing open and Sabu steps out. He picks up the bandit’s roadblock as if it were a twig. The terrified bandit fires, but nothing stops Sabu. One charge sends the bandit flying over the forest, tree trunk and all.

The forest road is free again, all thanks to Chacha Chaudhary’s brain and Sabu’s muscle.
